Sunday Lovely Sunday

Woke up very early this morning for a very special reason. A very close and special family friend, Nelson had his ashes scattering at Dee Why Beach at sunrise. These were his wishes that had has passed onto his family for when he passed away and today was the day. The alarm went off at 5:30am and as I got into the car the air was still and I could see the stars.

I met my Mum and Dad, My Uncle and a few other family friends along with close friends and family of Nelson. We were representing Freshwater Beach and Dad, Me, My uncle and 2 other family friends jumped in a surf boat and rowed out. After a slight hiccup with Dad loosing his glasses in the shore break we made it out.

The sunrise was perfect, blood red and as the dolphins and whales swam around in the distance Nelson was put into the ocean by his wife and daughters.

2 Dee Why boat crews, our boat and a lonely ski paddler that had also made the 25 minute trip around the heads put all 4 oars into the air and a few moments of silence by all involved while we reflected on Nelson as a bloke and took in the amazing morning Nelson had ordered for the occasion.

RIP Nelson, you were a wonderful man who made a difference in a lot of peoples lives, we will miss you very much and if its not to much trouble, while your floating out the back of Dee Why, can you do anything about the seaweed?

Love Jenn
xx
