Melbournian

In honour of the Melbourne Cup today I have put together a last minute post about Races Fashion. Ladies can get it so right or sooooo wrong!

You also don't have to spend a lot on $$ to look amazing, while watching Fashions on the Field at Derby Day this past weekend I was very happy to hear that a few of the entrants bought their dresses for under $100.00 The trends were mainly towards Mad Men and vintage 40's dresses.

Great work girls!

On this years Melbourne Cup Day I have gone rather casual I feel. I'm not even sure I will get to leave the office to go and lunch with some lady friends but will wait and see. I don't even have any fasinator or hat!! Its a travesty I tell you!! May have to whip something up from random stationary I can find in the office....leave it with me...

Apologies for the rather boobie shot...its the angle of the picture, I promise I don't have this much boob out at the office :-)

Flats - Chanel, Tights - Sportsgirl, Shirt Dress (I would normally wear as a dress but in the office its a bit to much) Zara, Tank - Country Road

Trick or Treated

the Aussies are much more into Halloween this year than years gone by. The shops have more Halloween gear and there was more kids around dressed up I think. LP and I had our little stash of lollies for them.

Next year we may even put up decorations.....maybe.

Loved this pic below, made me giggle!

Sprinted

After picking up LP and getting a few things from the lovely people at Smith's Pools we got changed into our running gear and headed to James Morgan in Cromer and did a sprinting session. Was not to bad and absolutely gave it everything. The ground was really uneven and clods of random grass pocking out of the dirt made me feel like I was running like and unco BUT still did the job!

Mission

Sunday morning DP and her bridesmaids had a mission - To find the perfect bridesmaid shoe. We set out at 10:30am and first stop was Paddington. Found a beautiful sparkler for DP's hair but not shoes just yet. Close! But no cigar...

Onwards and upwards to Bondi Westfield with rockstar valet parking which was a lovely treat from DP's sister. Felt very spesh!

A quick whip around the shops, lunch stop (where I had the best sandwich EVER) and a final decision then PURCHASE. We were done and dusted!

A quick purchase at Ghermez Cup Cakes and we were home ward bound.

Street Fashion - Bec

While I was at The Oaks sitting down having a drink I spotted this lovely lady below. I just had to take her picture! I just love Bec's vintage dress! Her make up, hair, shoes EVERYTHING was flawless.

Bec so very nicely let me take her picture for the blog. Bec got her fabulous dress from a vintage shop in Sydney CBD. I love the length of it and her stockings set it of perfectly!

Apologies for the quality of the picture itself, I only had my iPhone with me, more of these to come!

Brunching

Up and at them early Saturday morning preparing to host the ladies at my place for brunch. Baking, chopping, blobbing and beating and of course vacuming, cleaning and wiping. Busy morning!

The ladies rocked up at about 10:30am brought with them some of the biggest strawberries I have ever seen and some lovely bunches of flowers. We had such a nice morning and thankfully it didn't rain!

We had lots of home made yummy's Bircher muesli, Mediterranean Bites, Smoked Salmon Crunchies, Pancakes and a heaving fruit platter.

I forgot to take pics of the Mediterranean Bites recipe but will make them again and re-post, they are award winning after all!

Thanks for coming ladies, hope to do it again soon!

Halloweening

On Friday we had a Halloween BBQ over at our Belrose office and it was obviously dress up, which if you know me at all know that I LOVE! Any chance to dress up.

Had some issues with the nut stuck on my face so just ended up adding more blood which was nice. Some how ended up raiding the lollie cauldron and smashed perhaps 3 fun size boxes of Smarties....Just cant help myself! Finally ended up with a spider infestation in my hair and took myself home

Dinner with the ladies

heading down to Manly Wok Bar with some fabulous friends is a must. Filled up on far to many dumplings and finished off with a Sweet Thai Basil Chicken stir fry. Pretty fabulous and great company for a school night!

Bought

Yes, I admit it that I have shopped a little to much this month. I need to save some money BADLY! Xmas is coming up so need to pull my head in a fair amount to be able to afford it!

Bought a pair of Pepe Jeans boyfriend shorts and a cute top from ASOS..summer essentials...

Picture riding my cruiser bike down to the beach in this outfit...yay for summer!

Inhaled

In the space of 5 minutes I absolutely annihilated this box of Smarties.

Better get my joggers on for a run this arvo before dinner!

A tiny bit sore this morning from my fantastic boxing effort last night but nothing to bad, I really thought it would have been worse! Perhaps I am fitter than I thought I was?! YAY! That is always a bonus!

Having a Halloween BBQ tomorrow at work, Ill post some pics of my get up, should be rather funny!

A girly dinner at Manly Wok Bar tonight will be fabulous, looking forward to it!

Boxed

Man did I box! I was partners with Tim (the amazing paddler and athlete that runs the training sesh) We didn't miss a beat! I was pretty stoked and slept like a baby when I got home!

Ate

I wandered over to the Macquarie Centre with my friend Ned to buy a few things for the upcoming Halloween BBQ at our Belrose office. We stopped into the Korean BBQ place on the top level and had lunch. I had chilli beef and Ned had chilli chicken...It was really yum and cheap as chips, $10 for a big plate with a little salad, miso, your beef and rice.

Brilliant!

Bought

I am seriously so excited! I received to my desk today my Saint James Tee all the way from Paris! It is pretty much the same some Gweneth has on below...minus the patch which Saint James did to raise money for charity. Only 100 of them were made. I am in love!

This tee is the classic Parisian/French look, preppy and fabulous! I have been on the hunt for the perfect striped tee and I have a sneaking suspicion that this may just be it...

Only the French online store will ship to Australia, take a looksie!

Wearing

One of the greatest bargains in world history is the fabulous jacket that I am wearing today.

I found this amazing beauty on Ebay USA for (I'm not kidding) $35.00 and it is by Christian Dior. The tag says Christian Dior The Suit, I wish I could find the matching skirt but I doubt that will happen.

The jacket has the most amazing shape with large shoulder pads and nips in at the waist. I'm so lucky to have found this! It is the most lovely taupe colour and it goes with absolutely everything! the only draw back for me is that I already have large shoulders (due to years of competitive swimming, rowing and weight training) so the big pads in this are not needed but the jacket is so well made and bursting with quality that I don't want to ruin it by taking it to a tailor.

Never mind, it will just have to stay as it it, Fabulous with BIG shoulders and I love it!
