Ohhhh man, was up again last night stretching my damn legs. Wish I knew why this was happening!? It is so damn annoying! Maybe I have to go and run a marathon or something? My legs could be like Forrest Gump and "Just wanna go runnnning"

Anyway, this evening is our work Christmas party at Manly Yacht Club. Lovely weather for it...not.

Hoping it will be a good night, will be a little hard due to the fact that it was originally going to be at the stunning Hilton Zita Bar but that got pulled 2 weeks ago due to some budget blah blah.

Anyway, do what you can with what you have I guess. Bring on the weekend!

Date Night

Last night I cheated on LP with Yamini. I had a wonderful date night with my beautiful friend Yamini at Macquarie Centre.

We wondered around for a little while and then settled on some Mexican at Mad Mex. The tacos were awesome! After dinner we height tailed it over to see Twilight, Breaking Dawn in Gold Class.

Such a nice night! After the movie we went to a cafe and ended the night with some an amazing piece of Mars Bar cheese cake just to clog the arteries some more.

I love Yamini! xxx

More Amour - Hot Make Up Trends For Summer

I have asked the fabulous Aime of Amour Make Up some random questions about some random topics and she has again been kind enough to grace us with her amazing knowledge and tips.

The Classy, Coy and Curious - Aime, What are the hot trends for Summer in Make Up? I have seen some sweet shades of tangerine wondering around Manly!

Aime @ Amour Make Up - You are totally right! This summer you need to get involved with bright shades of lipstick!

This trend is definitely here to stay throughout summer. Favourite shades are deep, sensuous red and the fresh shade of fiery orangey-red.

The secret to chic lips is to prepare your skin with foundation and concealer as the bright colours have a tendency to highlight any natural redness in your complexion. Experiment with different lipsticks to find just the right colour and tone for your pout!

Well I have been up since 4am this morning, not feeling tooooo bad at the moment. I couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and did some ironing...I am going to make someone a great wife one day :-)

LP woke up at normal time and said "where the hell were you? I said where I was and then he went on to say "well, someone is getting bonus WIFE points then aren't they!!" and proceeded to giggle himself silly and drag me back under the doona.

What a wally...

I was watching one of my favourite shows whilst ironing, Housewives of NYC..I bloody love it! The first part of the reunion show was on and they were going after each other like the Dapto Doggies go after that fake rabbit!

Love it! Housewives of Beverley Hills is starting back up next week and I love them too. Such trash TV but I am hooked!

Having dinner with a dear friend tonight and we might even catch a movie!

Just have to get through work first...

Urg.

Weirdly I am wearing grey again today....

Monday morning is here again, funny how it just keeps turning up?! I won't mind so much in 3 weeks time when Monday comes around and I don't have to get up at the ungodly hour of 5:30am to drive the 45mins to bloody Macquarie Park and get to work by 7.

Holy balls I wont miss that!!

Wearing boots with bare legs today and I love it! Big week this week, have my work Xmas party, dinner with a beautiful friend and my debut as a Cater Waiter helping our friends at Nourish Cafe at a function on Friday!

Bought my fabulous flat black shoes from Target the other day so am ready to go!

Early Bird

Got up nice and early at 7:30am to a beautiful Sunday morning to meet 2 of my favourite girls for breakfast, both of which have AMAZING trips planned!

Once is going to South Africa on Thursday and the other is off on a trip of a life time to the US over Christmas. So excited for both of them and can't wait for the wrap up when they are home!

Had my morning breakfast staple of fruit, muesli and yogurt and we ate at a new place called Seachange, I think they are a Spenish restaurant in the night time becuase there was pictures of the most amazing looking paella on the wall  :-)

The rest of Sunday was spent at home doing the normal boring home stuff, washing, vacuuming, cleaning blah blah BLAH.

Dating

After all the running around on Saturday LP and I decided to go to Dee Why Hotel for a nice juicy steak. Also after my failed attempt to cook a great healthy carbonara on Friday night (which we had plenty of left over that we ended up chucking out...hence why the recipe is not on here) we couldn't be bothered cooking.

Was nice actually, and as someone that doesn't usually eat a lot of meat I liked it!

Woke up to the most horrific windy, raining, cold and awful day on Saturday! Couldn't believe that Tim Bailey called it and said that it would be over and done with my mid arvo....BUT he was right!

Had Cranio with my magic worker Karen at Qi Yoga in Manly and we had the most amazing session. Feeling light and clear! My body was very excited to be going and getting cranio this morning, like it was dying for it. Walked out of there feeling like a million bucks!!

If your not sure what I am on about see this old post

Anyway, after Cranio I raced over to Chatswood to meet DP and try and find her a hen's night outfit for the 10th Dec which we did! The most beautiful dress from Sheike. Its going to be a wonderful day/night!

Made - Roast Vegetable and Corriander Lentils

I had a craving for some healthy lentils last night and had a little looksie into my cupboard and fridge to see what I had around. Grabbed a few cans of lentils and veggies and off I went! Great for vegetarians!

Bought - (actually already had in the cupboard) Cobram Estate Garlic infused olive oil, Plain olive oil, 1 huge tomato, 1 large brush potato (peeled), 2 carrots (peeled) 3/4 of a red capsicum (would have been a whole one but I used some in a salad), 5 asparagus spears, large mushroom, Campbell’s real chicken stock (salt reduced), Spice & Co spices - dukah (Egyptian), rosemary, cayenne pepper, master foods - minced garlic, chopped chives, salt and pepper, a bunch of fresh coriander, 2 tins lentils (I used Russo lentils and I only used 2 tins, not 3) I would also add some onion into the roasting pan and perhaps some roasting garlic...I forgot about this!

First step is turn your fan forced oven to 180/200C. Get yourself a baking dish, drizzle some garlic oil in the bottom and start to chop up your veggies. Keep them kind of chunky so they don’t burn and throw them in the oven.

After about 25 minutes, check on the veggies. Your asparagus and mushroom should be cooked by then, grab them out of the dish and put aside. Put your veggies back into the oven for about another 25 - 30 mins.

In the mean time put your lentils on. Grab a large pot, add a glug of plain olive oil into the bottom of the pan and open 2 tins of lentils. Chop up your asparagus and mushroom and add into the pot with the lentils.

Also grab your fresh coriander and chop off the stalks. These contain a hell of a lot of flavour so it’s good to get some flavour into the lentils as they are very bland. Chop up the stalks and throw them in. Stir well and keep the lentils on a simmer, not a boil.

Once you are happy with your roasted veggies pull them out of the oven. I scrapped the capsicum and tomato and put them straight into the pot without chopping. Stir them through and they should break up themselves.

Chop up the carrots and potato into small chunks and put them into the pot also. give it a good stir. The lentils and veggies will probably be getting a little thick by now. Add in about 1/4 chicken stock and stir through.

If you need more, add this quantity again. Now it is time to start adding your spices. Add roughly teaspoon and 1/2 of cayenne pepper, tablespoon rosemary, 2 teaspoons minced garlic, 2 table spoons of dukah, 2 table spoons of chopped chives, salt and pepper to taste. Give it a good stir, turn the heat right down (add more stock if you need to) and let it go for about 10 minutes. Taste the lentil mixture about this time and if it is still a bit bland, add more of the spices

Last thing to do is grab the rest of your fresh coriander, roughly chop it and throw it in. Turn the heat off and stir the coriander through.

Last thing is to serve whilst piping hot and enjoy!

Amour of course!

A close friend of The Classy, Coy and Curious is Aime Van Dyck of Amour Make Up. Amie has been doing make up on and off for probably 10 years and is one of the most talented make up artists I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from. Not only is she gorgeous, kind and lovely but she can take a bad skin day and turn in into something or rather someone who could grace the cover of Vogue.

I have asked Amie for some Summer Skin Tips and she has been kind enough to give us a great over view on how to manage skin care in the warmer months.

I always love Aime's make up and her skin is glowing literally all the time! I am guilty of not doing the below all the time and honestly I am lucky if I cleanse 3 times a week BUT reading the below makes me think twice about my skin!

Aime will also be featuring on The Classy, Coy and Curious a few more times with great make up tips and perhaps a quick lesson here and there.

Check out Amour Make Up's face book page for more tips and tricks. Also if you want to get in touch with Aime if you have a special event coming up email her here  aimevandyck@hotmail.com

Thanks Aime!

Hi Ladies!

Now for those lucky few that have been blessed with flawless complexions, summer is a time to show off beautiful, radiant skin that glows in the afternoon sun. For the rest of us, summer can be filled with blackheads, pimples and dull skin caused by too much sunscreen, over-cleansing and sweaty days at the beach!

To combat such a problem follow these simple steps to clearer skin:

Cleanse twice a day, no more, no less. If your skin feels tight and taught chances are you’re over-cleansing. Too much cleansing can strip the skin of natural oils that are required to keep it healthy and balanced. Also be careful of cleansers with alcohol which will strip skin of its essential oils.

Exfoliate at least twice a week in summer with a gentle product that won’t irritate the skin. This will help to remove build up of dead skin cells that tend to dull your complexion. Please remember not to scrub your face in a frenzy – be gentle!

A toner can be used to remove all traces of dirt and make-up however if your skin is already feeling tight I would skip this step. If you do want to use a toner remember to only buy alcohol free.

A basic law of beauty is that everyone, no matter their skin type, should moisturise. Even if your skin is oily, it will benefit from moisturisers. (The only exception is those with acne). Moisturisers seal moisture into skin, however be careful not to over-moisturise as this can clog pores.

Last but certainly not least, remember to use sunscreen. Not only does the sun cause harmful skin cancers, it also plays a major part in the ageing process. Apply sunscreen specially made for the face every day alone, or under your make up. Wear a hat and sunglasses when outdoors for prolonged periods.

My advice is to book in a facial with a beauty therapist at a reputable salon. They can advise you which products are suitable for your skin type and recommend the best treatment to keep it in check all summer long!

I went for a mammoth almost 7km walk last night, felt very stoked with myself! Gotta keep moving moving moving! The weather is still crap outside but raining on and off, Tim Baily reckons that its going to be raining until Tuesday or something. This gives way for a relaxing weekend I think.

Apologies for the crap pic, was rushing :-)

Still raining and I did a sneaky sneaky and parked in a visitors spot at the very front of my building today. HA!

Wearing my favourite bargain hunter piece from Dior today...she needed a run I thought and also went a little nerd chic and buttoned my shirt dress right up to the neck. Lucky I have the jacket on or I would look like a box with my massive shoulders. Over the years I have learnt how to dress them and let me tell you it's not easy! If you have any tips for large shoulders I would love to hear them.

Feeling good, refreshed and ready to face the day....maybe ask me again in a few hours!

Yes you are looking at the clock on my bedside table correctly...it says 6:23pm. I had some yummy fruit salad and yogurt at about 5:30pm sat around for a bit, threw myself in a nice warm shower then promptly decided that I had had enough of today and put myself to bed. Was actually pretty awesome lying there listening to the rain outside under my nice warm doona.

Still didn't stop me having to wake up at some un-godly hour this morning to stretch my legs and my back. I made sure that I didn't look at the clock because then I have the delusion that it's ok and it won't get stuck in my head about how annoying it is to wake up at 2am every single night. .

LP also saved the day last night and had to get out int he rain to fix a gutter that was blocked. Had to get the ladder and everything. I was very impressed! I was just standing there like a wally with my thongs on, in my PJ's under an umbrella telling him Good Job!

I woke up this morning listening to the beautiful rain outside and didn't feel to bad, definitely rested which is what I was going for doing something SO CRAZY like put myself to bed before 7pm.

Not so uuurrrggg today :-)

Holy balls that was a bad night sleep. Up yet again at 2am, god give me strength. Went for a nice walk last night with LP but forgot to take a pic, oopps! Today I think the guy is starting on our pool area and I cannot tell you how excited this makes me!

It is going to be so great for summer BBQ's and late night swims!

I walked out in what I'm wearing this morning and LP says...YOUR MY BOY BLUE!! from Old School that movie with Will Ferrell.....such a wally but pretty hilarious.

Is it Friday yet?

Thank Christ I had a good nights sleep last night. Monday morning really doesn't seem quite as bad with a good nights sleep under my belt. LP was the most amazing yesterday and gave me a great leg massage for like 45 mins....what a good BF he is. I have been waking up at 2am every single night last week and having to wake up and stretch my legs...worlds most annoying thing ever.

Onto another week, but as these weeks get closer and closer to December 16 (my last day of work for this year, then I'm on holidays!) I just keep hauling arss into the office.

T minus 3 weeks AND COUNTING!

I even got a "you look nice today" this morning at 6am from LP! Bless him!

Made - Poached Eggs with Spinach

After the amazing engagement party we were both shattered! We didn't even stay out that late! I'm not going to blame this on getting old, rather on it getting close to the end of the year and being burnt out

That is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

So after we woke up around 9:30am and fluffed around a bit we both decided that we felt like eggs. Off we went to do the weeks shopping at Harris Farm (bloody love that place) and bought everything we needed.

Bought - Eggs, fresh pania bread, spinach leaves, salt, pepper, grated low fat Coon cheese, avocado

First things first, get a pot of water and a little white vinegar boiling on your stove. Once the water is boiling grab a long wooden spoon and swirl the water around and around until its moving on its own in a circle. I get a small coffee cup and crack my egg into there and then slowing put it into the middle of the swirling water. It's the only way that I have figured out how to poach an egg but if you have your own technique that works, go for it!

Put your bread into the toaster and keep your eye on those eggs. I have a slated spoon that I pick up the eggs and touch the yolk (we like it to have a little bit of runniness in it) when I'm happy with it I put the eggs onto some kitchen towel to drain.

Grab your toast (add butter if you like, I didn't) pop your spinach leaves directly onto the toast. Put your eggs on top of the spinach, add salt and pepper and then a little grated cheese on top of the eggs. Cut up a little avo and put on the side.

I then also add a little tomato sauce as well, makes it extra yum to me!

Perfect Sunday morning brunch for you and your lover!

Engaging

I have been looking forward to this party ALL week! Carly and Carl's engagment party! I was tanned, polished and put into my lovely dress and ready to go! Off to Carly's beautiful partents house in Harbord for a night of love and laughter.

Congrats again to you both, many happy and love filled years to come!

Made - Greatest Salad Ever

After the shithouse outfit on Friday I went home and promptly collapsed in a heap. LP (bless his socks) stepped up to create dinner. Exactly what I felt like and was craving...An awesome salad!

He even made his own dressing. What a good BF....I am a lucky lady!

Bought - Nothing, we had everything in the fridge but here is what he used. 1 ice berg lettuce, 1 tomato, half a cucumber, 2 carrots, half a red capsicum, handful of almonds, a chunk of low fat Greek feta. 1 pink lady apple, 1/2 small red onion.

Dressing - A glug of good olive oil, fresh lemon and lime juice, large spoonful of grain mustard, a glug of fat free french dressing....then he added an extra bit of lemon juice  because it didn't taste right.

All you have to do is chop everything up and chuck it all in a bowl and mix! Was so fresh and nice and healthy!

Excuse my really expensive salad servers and glass mixing bowl....

I will just close my eyes and pretend that I am wearing the below...including the denimn shorts to the office.

What a douch I am!
